Sally is a Strategic Design Partner, a Creative Leader, and a Design Professional
With over 30 years of experience delivering complex interior and exterior projects across Australia and internationally, Sally brings strategic vision, commercial awareness and creative leadership to every stage of the process. Sally has a holistic approach to design, from portfolio-level vision setting and design strategy through to placemaking, concept development, detailing, furniture design and art curation.
Her work is grounded in a deep understanding of how people interact with environments and how those interactions influence leasing outcomes, customer behaviour and long-term asset relevance.
She works in close collaboration with all her clients, asset teams, leasing managers and multidisciplinary consultants to ensure each design decision supports operational needs, stakeholder objectives and commercial performance.
Sally is known for her ability to unlock hidden potential within ageing or underperforming assets, creating environments that are both human-centred and economically resilient.
Sally, like all of us is many things. She has her own creative practice, making wonky ceramics and continually developing her drawing skills.
In collaboration with a small international team of coaches and professionals Sally has developed a series of workshops inspiring others to lead a more creative life and follow their dreams both professionally and personally.

History
McBean and Co Design was established in 2000 as a Design Consultancy focusing on Retail Design.
Our projects include multiple Shopping Centres both in Australia and internationally, Asia Department Store in Beijing China and smaller projects, retail store designs, cafes, restaurants and residential projects.
Sally enjoyed a 13 year corporate role as the Creative Leader and Head of Interior Design of Scentre Group (owners and operators of Westfield Centres in Australia and New Zealand). Working across the portfolio of 42 Westfield Centres and leading a team of talented designers and architects on multiple major development projects as well as many ambience upgrades of existing malls.
Sally has worked with wonderful clients reimagining spaces and places, creating concepts designs and undertaking ambience upgrades of existing centres, high end residential projects and retail store design..
Sally believes the future is transforming existing places and creating vibrant spaces that resonate with people emotionally, connecting communities and people to place.
